I really like the picture you have taken compared to a professional photo of Cardiff Bay, I think your version of the photograph is of the same standard as the professional photo. It is really interesting.

I think that all your pictures are effective because they show a high range of skills within the topics. I think that the pictures of nail varnishes are effective because they look attractive and are over a wide range. The pictures all fit into the same themes and are all interesting to look at and you have shown a high range of skills and angles.

Comparing to a professional photo
This is my photo
This is the professional photo
i think that my photo is similar to the professional photo however it isnt the same as the professional because the photos of the cases are different and how the case is placed is differently. I still believe that the photos are similar
Filter
This is photo that i have added the filter to
i have used the 'sumi-e" filter on photoshop . i believe that this filter adds effect to the photo. it make the photo more sharper and the image is more brighter. However i believe that the downside to the filter is that you can not see the faces on the photo as clearly.
Here is another original photo.
this is the photo with a filter.
I used the "watercolour" filter on photoshop. I think that this filter enhances the photo, it makes the photo brighter and makes it bolder and sharper i believe this will attract the audience. This filter still lets you see the wording on the front and the photos clearly.
edited photo
This is my original photo.
This is my edited photo.
i cut out the background so that it gave the photo its full effect it make the photo stand out more than the original photo because in the original photo the wall and the floor may take the focus away from the main part of the image so for that reason i have cut the background out. Here is another original photo.
here is the edited version of this photo.
i have used the colour replacement tool to take the colour in the background away so that the only colour that is left is the colour on the wristband. I think this enhance the photo more as it makes the wristband stand out more where as in the original the colour of the wristband is similar to the wall and the floor so could be seen to blend in. So with taking the colour out of the background can make the wristband stand out.
Canted angle.

Close Ups
this photo i took with a black and white filter on my camera this is not a close up version like i wanted it to be so you could see the glitter i will do this by cropping the photo.
this is the close up version of the nail varnish bottle i made it a close up by cropping the photo in photoshop. you can see the glitter that is in the nail varnish and you can also read what the tag around the bottle says more clearly

my photo that i took shows a varitey of bottles that contain different colours in the bottle. Even though the photo is in black and white the audience can still see the different colour eg the glitter in the bottle.

favourite photos
These are some of my favourite photos that i have taken of Cardiff bay. I made sure that they show what Cardiff bay is all about. I made sure that it captures the landscape and that it shows the nature and the surroundings of Cardiff bay. i have used the natural light instead of forced light. i think it really captures the surroundings in a good way.

Bad Photo
i think this is a bad photo because the light for the sun takes over the photo so you cant really see the rocks you can only see an outline where as i wanted to be able for the audience to see the rock.
editing a photo
this is my original photo that i took.
this is the same photo but edited.
i have taken all of the colour out of the background so that it is just black and white and that the only colour left on the photo is the colour of the statue. this makes it stand out as the red is a vibrant colour so it brings the attention to the red wheel instead of the background.
here is another original photo.

i have cropped the photo so it is only the coast line so it doesnt focus on the sky and sea it focuses on the coast line which shows what there is in Cardiff bay. i have used the poster edges effect which makes it look like it was a drawing used for a comic that was done by a professional artist.

Comparing with a Professional photo.
This is the professional photo that I found off a
website that is about Cardiff Bay .
This is my photo that I took;
I tried to take the photo from the same place so it had the same view. In
my photo I have more of the rock wall that leads down to the water where as the
professional one has less off the wall. The professional photo is has placed
the camera so it is slightly looking up on to the scene where as the photo I
took is slighting looking down on the scene.

Rule Of Third
This photo follows the rule of third. I
researched the rule of third before I took my photos and I found out that the
rule of third also draws the attention to the background. The rule of third
also makes the photo more interesting and draws the audience in. although the
photo is focusing on the white triangle building it also draws the attention to
the buildings in the background.

Rule of Thirds
The rule of third is a guideline, which applies the process
in composing visual images. The rule of thirds is applied by aligning a subject
with the guidelines and the intersection points
These photos have not used the subject in the centre, the subject is drawed to the side so that it also shows the background and it doesnt make the subject the main focus.
What makes a photo interesting
Lighting
Do something different with the light. You can use
backlighting to create silhouettes or use natural light rather than using the
normal straight directed light that is used.
Angle
The angle of the photo can make a difference it can make the
photo look different if you were to do an over head angle this can make the
subject of the photo looks small and using an lower angle can make the subject
look big and intimidating
Simplicity
If the background is very busy it can draw the attention
away from the subject of the photo where as if there was a plain simple
background behind the subject it can draw the attention to the subject rather
than the background.
How to download a photo from a camera to a Mac.
1.You need to first take the
photos on the camera.
2.
Take the SD card out of the camera.
3.
Insert the memory card into the side of the mac.
4.
The Mac’s desktop will come up with a icon of
the memory card which is usually ‘Untitled’.
5.
You will need to then click on the icon this
will bring up the files that are on the memory card. You then need to select
the photos you want to upload to the Mac.
6.
Once you have chosen the photos you want you
need to drag and drop them into a file you wish to save them in.
7.
You will need to make sure they are saved into
the correct sub folder in the photography folder.
8.
You will also need to make sure that they have
appropriate names.
9.
The last thing you need to do it to right click
on the icon, which is the memory card icon and select ‘Eject’. Once you can no
longer see the icon display you can remove the memory card from your Mac.
